Background
Experienced marine biologist specializing in the monitoring and management of harmful algal blooms (HABs), with strong expertise in the isolation and cultivation of microalgae, as well as in morphological, molecular, ecological, and physiological characterization of phytoplankton. Actively involved in the Toxic Phytoplankton Monitoring Network in the clam harvesting areas of the Gulf of Gabès (Tunisia, south-east Mediterranean Sea). Played a key role in the development and the implementation of a quality control system in line with ISO/IEC 17025 standards for the accreditation of toxic phytoplankton units in official health monitoring programs.
