Research focus on harmful algal blooms (HABs) ecophysiology, chemical ecology, distribution, seasonality, palatability, impact of toxins on herbivorous grazers and human consumers; Ciguatera Poisoning (CP) environmental risks, human health, socioeconomic impacts, trophic transfer of toxins. In addition, current research on microalgal bloom dynamics in aquaculture (prawn) ponds, electro-flocculation of microalgae, nutrient bioremediation, use of microalgal in animal feed supplements; use of microalgae in biodigestion for energy production.
