Dr Bojan Tamburic

I am a Senior Lecturer at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, UNSW Sydney, and Deputy Director of the UNSW Water Research Centre. As an Australian Research Council Industry Fellow and academic lead of the Nuisance and Harmful Algae Science-Practice Partnership (NHASP), I collaborate with the Australian water industry to address critical water quality challenges, with a focus on the management of harmful algae in our waterbodies. In particular, I am interested in developing novel, scalable and reliable technologies for the monitoring and mitigation of harmful algal blooms. This includes research on satellite remote sensing, non-contact sensing, artificial destratification, oxidation and bioflocculation. My multidisciplinary expertise spans a PhD in Chemical Engineering, an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures, and an MSci in Physics, all earned from Imperial College London.
