Background
I am an environmental psychology scientist who explores relationship with the ocean and marine species, including how biophobia (dislike/fear of the natural world) and biophilia (positive connections to the natural world) impact how people engage with the ocean and ocean conservation. Part of my research explores the mental wellbeing impacts of spending time in Blue Spaces, and during the recent South Australian HAB, I have measured levels of eco-anxiety in the community.
