Background
I have over 15 years’ experience in the study of HABs. I have worked with the NSW Food Authority’s Shellfish Program since 2014, as part of a team that develops environmental monitoring programs to facilitate the real-time risk management of commercial bivalve shellfish harvest areas, by closing areas to harvest when adverse environmental conditions and potential food safety risks are present. HAB research interests include the ecology and distribution of harmful algae and their impact on aquaculture zones, as well as risk management of ciguatera poisoning.
