Background
For over 20 years in my role with NSW govt have provided a first ID for algal blooms in support of the NSW RACC and and for the NSW EPA. For my PhD I explored the role of temperature and other water quality parameters on the diversity of benthic diatoms within NSW estuaries. Since 1997 I have been responsible for monitoring of phytoplankton, zooplankton and picoplankton at the Port Hacking National Reference Station.
