Miss Louise Hosking

I am currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of South Australia, supported by a Postgraduate Scholarship from the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering. My research focuses on the use of chemical sclerochronology to enhance our understanding of fundamental shark biology and ecology. My project focusses on populations in Southern and Eastern Australia, however, methods developed will apply globally. Part of my research is focused on better understanding the current harmful algal bloom in Southern Australia, and its effects on shark and ray populations. Previously, I held a research assistant role at MARIS Lab within The University of South Australia, where I focussed on developing and applying sclerochronological methods to cephalopod research.
