Background
My team and I (ShellMAP) oversee the pre-harvest regulation of food safety risks in shellfish in Tasmania. This includes sampling/monitoring of biotoxins and toxin-producing phytoplankton by implementing the ShellMAP Biotoxin Management Plan (DAFF-approved) and ensuring shellfish product complies with regulatory limits of toxins in the FSANZ Food Standards Code, as well as appropriate state legislation.
