ANZHABNET Symposium (25th November 2026) and Harmful Algal Bloom technical workshop (26th November 2026) in Hobart.

Responding to the South Australian Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) event 2025-2026 with catastrophic impacts on tourism, fisheries, aquaculture and the marine ecosystem, ASPAB will schedule a satellite HAB science symposium at the same CSIRO auditorium on Wednesday 25th November 2026. Provided sufficient interest (capped at 30 participants), a further Karenia focused HAB technical workshop will be held next door at IMAS on Thursday 26th November 2026. ASPAB attendees can attend any of these extra days, but it also is possible to attend only the two HAB days. These two events are hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Marine Harmful Algal Bloom Network.
